✧ Tracking Treasures & TCG Trends #1: Gundam & League of Legends TCGs 🐻 ✧

Both the Gundam Card Game and the League of Legends Trading Card Game, known as Project K, are set to launch in Australia in mid-late 2025.

League of Legends TCG (Project K)
Riot Games announced Project K, a physical trading card game based on the League of Legends universe, in late 2024. The initial launch occurred in China in early 2025 with the limited edition collector's box available in our store already.

As of March 2025, Riot Games has been seeking publishing partners for regions outside China, including Australia. We're checking whether Let's Play or Banter (two of the largest wholesalers/publishers) will be taking on this TCG, as LoL is a huge IP.

   Gundam Card Game
The Gundam Card Game is scheduled for official release worldwide, including Australia, in 2025. Prior to the official launch, the "Edition Beta" version was made available starting December 2024 and from talking to our business partners, it did incredibly well at stores. We'll be getting the official release in July 2025, and dependent on allocations in a few months time, we will have these up for pre-order.

   Our View 🥸
From the initial artworks and gameplay we're seeing, Gundam seems like arguably the better choice both for investment and for playing but LoL is the bigger IP by a significant margin. We would definitely be committing to these TCGs, as they give a similar vibe to One Piece TCG on release, however, as we're not super familiar with the history of either games/shows, it's hard to give a verdict on whether this will be a long-term buy. That being said, TCGs have come a long way and the actual gameplay is quite engaging for both.
Let us know if these TCGs are on your radar!
